Default PO327 Knock Sensor Bank 1 - Which one is bank 1?

I had 2 of the same codes stored in my car. Both were PO327: Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Imput Bank 1 or 1 Sensor. So this means what?

How can I have 2 of the same codes? Does that mean both sensors are shot? How can I tell which one is bank 1? I can get both sensors for $30 bucks at the dealer, but I just don't feel like tearing the intake off.

Thanks!

If you have to go in there you might as well replace both.

I think that's the code mine threw. I think bank one is the front one. I say this because on mine the front one was a rust ball. Anyway you might as well replace both, I wouldn't want to do it twice.

That's what i'll end up doing. How long did it take you guys to do the change? Is there anything I should be aware of before starting out?

Bank 1 is always the head that has piston 1
S1 is always the O2 before the Cat, thus is the upstream one and
S2 is always the O2 after the Cat, i.e, downstream

So a HO2B1S1 would be on the LS1, left head, O2 before the cat

There is a sensor at the back of the intake that you need to be careful with as it is easily broken if not handled with care when removing the intake

Yeah, watch the oil sending unit. It's behind the intake with the vacum line for the brake booster wraped around it. I managed to break mine, thank God Autozone had one. Take your time.

You might want to change out the wiring harness while you are in there.
