How to properly tune for Misfire detection
My current dyno tune, like many others, have the Misfire Detection, under Engine Diag, disabled. I've viewed many tunes from HP Tuners site to compare and they all either have 32000 in all the cells in the charts, or set a max or min temp that does not allow the diag to run.
I've searched and can't find any good information on how to adjust the values in these tables to reduce the sensitivity of the detection, rather than just disabling it. I'd like to know if I started getting a real misfire!
I was thinking increasing the real values found in the stock tune up 20% or 50%
...thoughts?

It depends on what cam you have... for some smaller cams, I have done that (used 50%). For some bigger ones, I use 32,000 to avoid the P0300 from coming in later and causing the customer problems... hard to determine what is high enough.
Fact is, you will know if your car is misfiring without a light. Then you can always put the table back to stock temporarily to use the scanner and see which cylinder it is.

What I've done, is simply double the non-32000 values.
Thinking being, if it's gross misfiring then you'll still see
the flag but a little more shaky than stock will get a
pass. It's worked OK as far as tamping down TCC unlock,
I haven't run into any misfire detects nor tried to force
any, to test the scheme. But at least it's not totally
dummied out.
