Any Megasquirt 3 info out there?
So a few months ago, I was talking to the DIY guys about the new MSIII that was supposedly ready to go. They supposedly sold out in one weekend and were supposed to let me know once they got more in. I have been contacting them every couple of weeks and still no more units available. Does anyone have any feed back that was able to get their hands on these? Any updated info floating around thru unofficial channels? Problems? It seems like a much better fit for the LSx platform than the previous MSII.

Thanks for that bit of info. I was under the understanding that low imp inj would be supported. That just blew it for me. I guess I'm going AEM on mine. It doesn't have low imp support either but it is a plug and play(ish LOL) standalone that will control everything and they have a phone number with humans that pick up the phone. I was shocked.

I can get into the AEM for under $1000. I have looked into the Holley but you have to use their harness aswell. I think that it comes out to a little over $1600 with everything. I also don't think that the Holley will run the cluster whereas the AEM will.

Well the system retails for $1110 direct from AEM. My buddy Joe just got his for $900 from a friend that works for big distributor but that's a hookup. You should be able to find someone that will sell it to you for $999 pretty easily. Just looked it up on Jegs. $999 (pn 30-1220).

You got one of the beta units? Niice.
Have you posted up your install on MSExtra yet?
CobraKiller,
We have one of the first beta versions also ,and have tried it in "MS2 upgrade mode" on Mikes Mustang.

The NovaWagon will use the MS3 to it's potential:
It will run Sequential injection on the primary injectors, with gas to E30 to E85 auto adjusted to the mix by the MS3 ,and the 10 secondaries will be E98 or E85(summer blend)
C.A.N. bus comms. to the Trans Controller(Microsquirt) controlling the 4l80e.
With the info from the trans the MS3 will control the boost by gear,and/or speed. we don't know what will work the best.
The MSD 6010 will be giving up it's duties to the MS3 now also. The MS2 and MS1 can already do this, but you have to give up too many inputs and outputs we use for logging and relay controls.
The MS3 now has more inputs and outputs than even we can use.
The tables are now 16x16, not that we ever really needed than many, but people wanted bigger tables.
The SD card for the logging wil be nice.James has even made it so you can hook a mic. up and record audio to be played back as the log plays back. This may be handy for trying to remember what was happening during the section you are looking at.And when looking at the logs later.
As for the MS3x add-on board, it will run low imp. injectors but it would not be recommended for extended W.O.T. use with them(road racing, endurance racing, etc.),the board/devices will get too hot. The Wagon or the Mustang could easliy use low z injectors because it switches to the other 10 injectors at WOT and boost. And those can be run by the extra two channels on the Version 3 main board.
The new MS3 will/does have more power, and I/O than we will ever use, even with all that we control and monitor.
The kicker is that this is only the half of it, the New TunerStudio software that you use with the MS3 is really nice also.
These systems may not be for everyone, but if you want to learn about this stuff and use some powerfull opensource hardware. It can't be beat. Alltho It's not Plug and Play Yet...

I have the base V357 & MS3 Board sitting at the shop. Its not assembled. I am not putting it together until I get the MS3X expansion Board.
The MS3X is where to goodies are at:
The MS3X card is an input/output board for the MS3
8 injector drivers (high-z or low-z with external resistors)
8 logic level spark outputs
6 mid current outputs for driving small solenoids or relays (on/off or PWM)
3 analogue inputs (0-5V)
4 switch inputs
Cam sensor input
All in All the Complete MS3 package will give FAST XFI, BS3, AEM, and the like a run for thier money.

I've run my LM7 on MS3+MS3X with stock crank/cam sensors, stock coils and high-z injectors. Full sequential fuel and ignition.
For low-z injectors use a resistor pack or a driver box. (Same as some of the other aftermarket ECUs.)
I had hoped the full package would be fully to market by now... but testing takes time.
