Default 4l80e swap no segment available

Is there anyway I can control a 4l80e with a pcm that a 4l80e segment isn't available for? My pcm is a 99 with OS 9379910.

I can build you a calibration for an 80. I could try to do a swap also

Your tuner will just use an OS that DOES support it. If it's in a swap, it's even easier.

I would not be so bold as to try that on a customers car... maybe on my own if I had one. For the GTO's, you can move a couple of wires, add a relay and then just run the 80 with a 60 segment.

So can I just flash the pcm with a 4l80e file? Sorry I'm new to all this stuff. I will have it professionally tuned after the turbo is finished but I would like to be able to move it around in the mean time.

post your calibration and I will put in a 4L80E segment for you. I have heard when you segment swap the 4L80E in it rest a bunch or parameters and you have to go through the complete calibration.

Try this
The calibration I posted isn't an HPT it is really a bin file. download the file and then rename it (.bin). You can get a demo version of EFILive. Open that bin in EFILive and see if it has any parameters that are out of range.

That should show you that it is a good cal.

What about the giant pile of parameters that none of the commercial editors can see, but exist?

can you just change the trans type scalar, or is that what you did?

I cannot download your file for some reason.

He swapped a segment into a non-matching OS using a more liberal editing tool.

Why not just use an OS that does support a 4L80e like Frost said way up above???

Like he said further down - there are a bunch of parameters you can't see and they will be wrong and they will cause problems... been there and done that years ago...

I can see any parameters I want to see.

You can compare a 60 and a 80 in a hex editor and find out a lot.
If I find some time I will share some information on this subject

+1

OS 12212156 came with either segment (depending on vehicle) and either of electronic/cable throttle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think I'm more confused now than I was before.

Exactly why you shouldn't have been led down this crazy path when there is an easy solution to your question...

Is this for a swap into your Blazer? Just get a tune (OS) from a truck/van (with same throttle control as you are using) that had a 4L80e - put in the engine parameter tables that you need (injs, MAF, etc), full flash it, and tune it from there... it's that simple.

The OS Joecar mentioned above is a good one - I only have it in EFILive, or I'd send you a file...
