Default did 99+ pcm swap in a 98 car..no fuel guage with fuel segment

put my 2002 PCM in a 98 car I have. Everything works but the fuel guage. I have already sent my file to HP tuners and they did the segment swap with a 2002 express van file. Still doesn't work. Anyone had this issue?

In 1998, the fuel sender output is a DIRECT connection to the instrument cluster.....it does NOT get it's signal from the PCM. There should be no need for a segment swap, unless you need the ability to "scale" the tank size for some reason to make the gauge read accurately....in which case, you'll need to change the sender and wiring to the 99-up style (PITA, as the tank and sender are different in 99-up cars). If you did not change the physical dimensions of your tank, you should not need a segment swap. Also, the sender impedance is specific to the 1998...as is the wiring.

Edit:
Now, I'm second-guessing myself (it's been a while since I dealt with mine). Let me dig through some wiring diagrams just to make sure....or, you can PM Caleditor for diagrams.

OK....my bad. Apparently, the '98 IS fed through the PCM. I got confused, as I swapped a 98 cluster into my '96, and got a bit foggy in my recollection of wiring differences.

Just verify your wiring, and get ahold of Caleditor....he'll take good care of ya.

just to make the 98 Fuel Gauge work on the 99+ PCM and a 99+ F-Body Calibration you need to simply enable the PWM output from the PCM and then you need to setup the output Hz to match the 98 gauge.
The Van segement is way off on all of the setting, but it does have the PWM output enabled. The Hz is almost 1/2 of the 98's
PM me for more details

Automagic, do you by any chance have 4L80 on your car? I have it, with swapped 98'->00' PCM, and now searching for the necessary bin file

Did a quick read but probably too quick... I can't change the necessary parameters in new PCM by myself, right?
P.S. Using HPTuners
