Default new to tuning (tunercats) got a few questions

my car has been tuned before but i was told it was a nitrous tune and the last owner was spraying a 100 shot on it. i look at the tune for the first time and it says i have a total of 46 degrees of timing. that seems a little high to me but what do u guys think?

it has 42 lb injectors but the tune says 43.9 lb. any reason for this?

i keep getting knock retard. i was prepared to desensitize the knock sensor but when i looked at it, it was only at 3%. i dont hear any pinging and this is a daily driven car so id like to keep my knock sensor. what do yall think?

where does it say you have a total of 46 degrees? in the ecm constants section or the actual rpm vs map tables?

the injector size difference can be used to compensate for running a different fuel pressue from stock or have injectors that are rated at a presure other than stock (ex svo injectors). are you running a greater fuel pressure than stock or are your injectors rated at a fuel pressure different than you'r car's stock value?

it says 46 in the constants and on the actual tables its max is 45.

i have a walbro 255 with a stock regulator. the injectors came on the motor and i was told they wer 42lbs. i may try to find a place to test them and get a definite answer

so the constants table setting of 46 wont let your timing go above that even if you set it higher. 45 degrees is high. you have to see what map and rpm values the knock is happening in and then decrease the timing in those cells.

for the injector size it may be that whoever had the car before you was running more fuel pressure so they had to adjust the injector size for it. when you run more fuel pressure you have to trick the car into thinking the injectors are bigger to keep everything in line.

go to lt1pcmtuning dot com for some really useful tuning info on tuning lt1s with tunercat.

There are places in a stock timing map it is @ 45*
You need to download datamaster you can do the first 20
logs free before you have to pay.
The best way to get good help is to post a log and a bin

where did you see your knock sensor was at 3%? what tables are you looking at that only go up to 6400 rpm? some tables are in two parts like ve and timing.

burst enable % in constants. something like that. im not in from of it right now.

both datamaster and tunercats stop around 6400 for most of the tables. when logging, the graph flattens at 6375. the ve tables, spark tables, almost everything but the rev limiter. and one other i cant remember right now

burst knock enable %diff air flow thresh is 3.1%

extended spark advance goes to 7k
ve tables go to 7k
knock fast attack goes to 6400
crank ve vs tps vs rpm goes to 6400

when i actually go back and look, its less than i thought but still

i will make a new log otw home. just put in a new knock sensor. its still pulling 1.5 degrees at idle. but as soon as u rev it, it drops to 0. havent driven it yet tho. just in neutral. also, i installed a 97 cluster. now my tach is off by about 500 rpm. anyway to correct that?
