high idle!!!!!!!!! help please!!!!!!!!!!!

Default high idle!!!!!!!!! help please!!!!!!!!!!!

first off im getting married 8/20/2011 and that is less than a weak away. my fiance let me get trick flow heads a fast 90/90 intake set up, comp cam 54-444-11. i just got it put all back together. when i drove it for the first time today it idled fine at first then when it got warm the rpm went up through the roof. when it warms up it goes to about 3500 rpm and stays there. i had a tune done to it and it is supposed to idle at 900 or so rpm. what could be the problem????????? could it be a vacuum leak, throttle body doesnt seem to be sticking. i disconnected the maf and it didnt change anything. cleaned the idle air control sensor. nothing seams to help. i might spray carb cleaner around the intake manifold and trottle body.

we are driving away in this car and if it doesnt work, it might be a very short marriage. any help would be much appreciated.

Big air leak somewhere aft of the throttle body. FAST intakes are multi-piece if I recall right, maybe a gasket slipped there or at the intake base to head sealing points.

no last christmas i told my fiance that we were driving away in the firebird. she said thats fine. i then told her that i was going to spend as much on my car as her ring and she was ok with that. so after the cnc'd trickflow heads, fast 90/90 set up, umi rear control arms, bmr adjsutable torque arm, 4.10 r&p and all new bearings and gaskets for the rear end, new clutch etc etc. we are almost even. i started the engine trans and rear end tear down 2 months ago and worked on it about 1 day a week. now it is all together and idled high. i retorqued the intake and adjusted the throttle cable and it seems to work for now. i will test drive it again tomorrow.

What torque value are you tightening the intake bolts to?

its all fixed. silly me i skipped the easiest solution. the throttle cable. it was pulling just enough so that the throttle body would stay open just enough that it revved high. adjusted it so now it runs pretty well. still breaking her in but all is looking good.
