Low coolant light is on, but it's not low ???
It's been on for a few days but it's all the way full! What's up with that? Is there a sensor that has gone bad? If so... Where is it?

I have a '98 T/A, I justed changed the thermostat, and ever since, the little light comes on after about 10 min of driving. Checked the coolant AND the radiator, nothing......everything is looking good. Also, the temp gauge doesn't even get a quarter of the way up, so it's not running hot..............so, for the time being, I just block it out and keep an eye on my temp gauge every now and then.......if you find something out, let me know.....sorry I couldn't be of more help!!!!

it's the reason why you won't find this sensor on any of the newer cars.. All you can do is keep on cleaning it til that fix doesn't work anymore, then replace it..

I just started having this issue recently on my 99 as well. Do the newer cars not have a low coolant sensor at all? Or do they have a sensor in a different location?
I'm going to Norris to have my air and egr codes deleted in preparation for my lt install... would it be possible/safe to have them delete this as well?

I'll try it tomorrow. =P
If I end up having to clean the sensor... do I have to remove it, or can I reach it through the cap? I'm having trouble visualizing exactly how it sits in there... I see the wire harness for it, but if I remove the clip you're talking about, is there a chance it could fall further down?

You have to remove the sensor to clean it. You pull it out of the radiator once the clip is removed. It seals with an o-ring. Take the battery out and it is easy to get to and remove. Drain a little coolant out of the radiator until it is below the level of the sensor, remove the wire clip, then just pull it out..

I unplugged the connector and taped it up with electrical tape to protect the end, and then tucked it away... drove around all day with no problems. The low coolant light didn't come on, and I didn't get a SES light either. Hopefully this is a fix... I'll post here if anything changes.

Yep, I had the same problem with mine after less than 10k miles on the engine. What a piece of crap sensor that is. I just unplugged it and left it. A temp guage is good enough for me.
