looked online, and found this is a crank position sensor issue?
its a 2000 chevy 5.3l transplanted into a 79 chevy 4x4. no rear 02 sensors, egr, vats, and all of the other bs you dont really need is gone.
can anyone give me any pointers on what i should look for or what to do. ive already tried erasing and they dont erase, or erase when i unplug the battery
idk why autozone scanner said, manufacture ignition system or missfire is what it came up with on the screen.
my brother is going to bring over Tech II the GM programmer/scanner and hopefully we can do something with it
had it running for a few mins, and after a few mins the truck starts to seem to missfire, which im assuming its because the CPS being screwed up.
can anyone tell me why i may need this crank position relearn? what causes my problem to happen? sat for about a week or so but was started every few days
anything? im unsure what causes this and has me curious
so with that being said, i had it running for a few minutes, went to move it at a friends house and it started missing it felt like, (no blinking MIL) hardly wanting to run,
would this cause that issue? having the crank re learn issue
tried to do the relearn today, ran into many issues using tech 2... wont let me run the relearn says "device no authorized" or something to that extent... im assuming its because the transmission data is saying its in second gear and the ECM wants to see park or neutreul signal so it knows the vehicle wont take off once it revs up.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagn...l#post15527967 here is the posting about it
tricked the ecm into seeing it was in "park" so i could perform the re learn procedure.
still having other fueling issues it seems like. truck will randomly chug and die. then sputters back to life after it cranks for about 5 seconds when i go to refire it
How did you trick the computer into thinking it was in park?
