Default Holley Domitator EFI users

I am in the process of buidling a twin turbo LSX 67 camaro and now need to decide on a computer system. I have been researching the Holley system and it looks good. Who is using it and how do you like it? Any pros/cons? I am running a 4L80 so I want it to control that also. Thanks for any replies!

Finished enough to go 7.87 @ 180. Race cars are never "finished". What do you want to know?

You mentioned in the other thread a problem with the stock coils. Are the Holley coils the only ones that will work right? I had been planning on using MSD's. Are there any other big problems you have come across?

It's weird because we have another buddy that is running relocated truck coils on his Silverado w/ a 408 LQ9 and a PT94 that has had not one hickup up to 12psi so far with his Holley HP ECU. All 3 of the fbodies that we have the Dominators in did not like the stock coils. Regardless, the new ECU's, with redesigned boards, are very close to shipping, from what I have understood. The issue is simply that the ignition cuts out randomly under WOT acceleration. The Holley coils are solid and resolve the issue.

Regardless of what engine management you decide to use, I highly recommend that you do some research on the MSD coils. From everything that I have read, those things are junk.

Very good info, thank you!!!! I was told by Holley that within 2 months the boost control in the ECU will be ready and that is what I am waiting for. I will probably go with the Holley coils as well. What is your opinion on the Hollley injectors? This is all new to me and it is my first fuel injected build.

Any more input on the Holley Dominator setup??

We just got the last box of parts that we needed in order to hook up the boost control in all 3 cars and also just got all the software to make it work. We are all using CO2 for "dome pressure" control (top port on the wastegate). They have not done any real world testing this way yet (w/ CO2). We will be providing feedback directly to Holley first and will report results once any issues are addressed or resolved. Not fair to post a play by play on a prototype as if it were finished product.

The Holley 120's that I am using resolved some major problems taht I was having with the Bosch 160 low imps at idle and part throttle. You can't beat them for the price.

Is there a way to make this work with a external crank/sensor like the 24tooth BS3? I do not have the internal reluctor. This sounds like the way to go once the boost control is ready.

Sorry for the hijack.

I'm 99% sure that it can, but you will have to call Holley on the specifics. I don't keep up with the alternative wheels and distributor stuff. It will do stock 24 or 58x reluctor for sure with the corresponding respective engine harness.

Do you know what fuel pressure the Holley Injectors are rated at?

The Holley Dominator has been one of the best investments I have ever made..

I personally have not experience the ls1 coil cutting out issue...but I'm also just Naturally Aspirated, and not forced induction

Are you using stock truck coils? Also, when did you purchase your ECU?

Dominator EFI which will work with DBW and a 4L80E (or any electronically controlled trans) will come in cheaper than other systems out there too.
