HPtuners and VIN registration ?
When you do a dyno tune with HPtuners for the first time and you pay the $100 for the credit which vin does the program want to be registered?
My E38 ECU is from a corvette and has the Vette vin printed on the outside of it. The tune on the ECU is for a VVT motor apparently from a van because I'm also running a 4l80e trans, which if I understand correctly has its own vin in the program.

Here is my situation
-Guy I ordered the ECM/TCM from says he set me up with a VVT tune
-Dyno guy says there is no VVT in the tune, its a Corvette tune ( I was thinking he thought it was a corvette tune because it is a corvette computer VIN on outside)
-ECM/TCM guy says thats impossible, Vetts can't run a 4l80e program asks for the computers back. Says VVT is active, phaser tables are loaded, VVT is working.
Basically I'm wondering if I need to find a different person to do my tunes in the future. At some point I want to do a VVT cam upgrade but I'm wondering if the dyno guy doesn't really understand the VVT tuning and that is why he doesn't see the phaser tables.
Someone isn't telling me the truth but I have no way of knowing. I'm putting more trust in the provider of the computers at this point then the tuner.
Hope that all makes sense...
If you then want your buddy to tune you with his hptuners interface HE would need to license your vehicle(unless he has the year/model license or unlimited vcm license).
I've already got over $1000 in these computers and don't really feel like spending any more without completely trusting the person who is doing it.
