found my old autotap It's an efilive v5. Can i still use it or do I need an update is it obsolete . It's the old one that uses a serial port. I have a usb serial adapter for it too.How do I get it to tune? and is this the V1?

It will work with the latest EFILive V7 software as a scantool/logger... but you will have to request a software license (free).
If you want to tune you will need the FlashScan V1 or V2 interface... I don't think V1 is still available... V2 is very capable, it even allows you to keep your laptop at home (i.e. no need to bring laptop to car).

Can I trade in this interface for a new one or am I gonna have to start new? do I have to contact efilive for a software lic. or can I get it off their website. thanks for the info

I'm not aware of any current AutoTap->FlashScan upgrade, but you can ask about it when you contact them.

I asked that question a while back and was told there is not an upgrade or reduced cost for upgrading to the newer stuff. Oh well... Was worth a shot. Will you post back if you have better luck?
