Default mail order: TSP vs Frost

i have a 98 t/a that will soon have full bolt ons, TSP V2, SS3600.

i was wondering which would be the better tune to get? i hear good things with the frost tunes but was wondering if TSP would be better, since after all, i am running their cam.

any experiences/suggestions?

I would go with a tune in person for that BUT out of the two you posted I would go with Frost.

with no personal experiences of my own, but like you said, A TSP tune makes sense if its their custom spec'd cam.

in time i will get a custom tune, but there are no shops near. (4 hours is the closest "good/recommended" shop) so i will be getting a mail order tune for now to "hold me over. "

Out of those frost, a mail in tune isnt bad for a bolt on car,but a cammed car all i would use a mail order for is a baseline to get to the real tune, i never went with a mo tune but im lucky enough my buddy tunes alot, you should see if someone in your area has hp tuners that can adjust a few things for ya

Oh i didnt see you had a cam, bud tsp and frost are great but i would never run a mail in tune on a cammed car, like i said baseline tune, put that tune towards a real tune, the car will run so much better,my buddy rolled around on a mo tune for a year, the tune was all messed up,when he got it tuned he said it was night and day,a good tune isnt all that cheap but there is a reason for that,

I am thinking of doing a Frost tune soon. I have no plans of a cam or any serious mods tho.

I have a frost tune for my stalled/bolt on car an have no complaints. Like others said for a cam your gunna want a street/dyno tune to make sure drivability is what you want and a/f ratio is good.

buy hp tuners. learn. done.

honestly nothing against the mail order guys and i know they have TONS of experience (and way more then me)tuning cars with similar mods on the dyno but every car is different. deleting codes, adding some timing, leaning out WOT on a near stock setup, yea thats easy stuff... but real time driving like trying to get a big cam to idle and all the little **** is worth it to just buy hptuners. Its part of the fun for me. Im always going for a drive and taking the laptop. nothing beats a good ole street tune and a wideband. I cant see paying 500 bucks for a dyno tune when you can buy hp tuners and a wideband for 700 bucks. if i hadnt have bought hp tuners 4 years ago i would have spent damn near 2000 grand on tunes with all the different setups ive done lol! But then again this all boils down to weather or not you would be comfortable tuning it yourself. I had no idea what i was doing when i tuned my first heads cam car. but hey it never blew up and ran awesome.
