corrected dyno # = crank hp??? Hello guys, I got a v2 cammed and full exhaust ws6. Im going to het it retuned tomorrow because it was dyno tuned horribly. According to the dyno it made only 320rwhp amd it drives like crap, I talked to this other guy who people have said does a good job and he is going to do a street tune. The thing though is that when I told him how much it had made he said it was about right, so I told him about how many other cars on this site had made close to or over 400rwhp with similar set ups and he told me it was impossible and that those where crank number because when corrected the compurer tunes out the drivetrain loss and stuff like that. Is he right or wrong? I though it only corrected things like humudity, temp and stuff like that. According to him a head cams and intake ls1 is lucky to get near 400rwhp, and he says he went to school for this so IDK. He even said he has build thousands of lsx engines and currently owns two trans ams, a 396 strocker and a 408 strocker and that they make 450 rwhp and run 6s in the 1/8.

I guess that my extremely mild 5.3 in my Miata is a freak then...putting 380 down to the pavement. As said previously, find another tuner....this guy is full of it....
The correction is to make dyno readings more standard across the continent, so the same car will give the same HP numbers in another state at higher/lower altitude and a hotter/colder weather. The correction is not to give crank HP (thatś what engine dynos are for). A chassis dyno gives whp numbers, so 320 whp for that setup is pretty low, it should be in the 400ś range

I dont care what he said, he did a great job, my car drives great and strong now it unbeliable, he sayd that it wasnt even tuned, now the car gets sides way from a roll and by sideways I mean to almost lossig control, if anyone need someone to tune their cars in midland or odessa pm so I can hook ya up with him
