ls1 with 4l60e wrong reading on mph in tech2
hello
this is a 1998 mod camaro engine in a 1970 camaro
during the testdrive the engine cutout at 46mph works fine up to 46mph
hen we was at the workshop and connected the tech2 they discoverd that
the car was driving in 117mph when the gps was only shoving 46mph.
what has happend her?
the pcm was programmed before we got the engine and transm.

That would be the best but now is the season to drive amcar in norway and to fix the pcm we need to disamble the wiring and pcm and send it to someone who then need to take the configuration and send it to someone in usa to reprogram and they need to send it back to us. This will take some time.
Therefore it would be easy to just change the sensor

The number of pulses x rev depends of the tooth count of the reluctor wheel installed inside the transmission tailshaft.
A manual trans has 17 tooth, A4 has 40:
The sensor only picks the pulse train and sends it to the PCM. The sensor itself can't change the number of pulses.
If you want to fix it without reprogramming the PCM, you need to change the reluctor wheel to a 17 tooth one. It can be done, but it's a lot more work than reprogramming the PCM

You could always mod the VSS output signal by using one of these:

I was forced to use one of these on a modified jeep transfer case, and have had zero negative issues with it so far. Speedo is spot on.
Not the way that I'd personally do it...but given your location, might be the best option for minimal down time. The larger concern here is...since it appears that you have an a4 with a m6 tune file....is how are the shift parameters being controlled? I've never had to deal with that before.

The car shifts ok. I notice when it shifts and engine cuts a couple times and works fine i guess that is because of the incorrect signal.
I guess we have to wait and see what the workshop will do about it. It is a guarantee work since we bought the engine and transm ready to work.

The fastest solution I see is sending the PCM to the closest shop to you which has HPT or Efilive, using UPS or Fedex you may have it back in 1 week.
