Using the GM flex fuel sensor on an Fbody
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I've also done it with a P59 in a truck using both the 12606961 OS and 12592618 OS. These both have 2 and 3-bar enhancements in HPTuners.
ALL of the P59 controllers support Flex Fuel, period. The problem with timing on some OS's working and not on others is popular editors do not have access to a blend factor table. I have been using this on many different OS's for some time now even starting out with files not originally setup for Flex Fuel.
For an Fbody the most native and best solution is a P59 controller with IAC drivers and a GTO operating system.
All OS's pre-05 were designed for a sensor to be used. In 2006 GM incorporated Virtual Flex Fuel which monitored fuel trims after filling the fuel tank to determine fuel composition. With that said the OS's that have Virtual Flex Fuel have the option/switch to select sensor equipped or not (Virtual).
