Default NV3500 VSS Signal

Ok I have a 95 C1500 with a 5.3 and I am having trouble figuring out how to get a VSS signal to the computer from my stock 95 NV3500 speed sensor. Can I use the stock speed sensor and just simply run the stock wires to my new computer or do I need to go with a aftermarket or add on sensor. Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to run the stock VSS directly to the PCM, you'll have to put the correct relictor tooth count in to the tune. IIRC its 40

Also my stock speedo is ran off a factory DRAC module, and I don't want to loose my speedo. I would assume by running the VSS wire to different places would lower the voltage its putting out, and possibly cause problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go over to LS1Truck.com and search speedometer under LS conversion section you will find you answer. On my 1992 5 speed swap with a 1999 pcm. I connected the vss from tranny to pcm and pcm to blue/bk wire at drac box that goes to speedometer and then adjusted speedometer settings in hptuners .

I just spliced my new vss high output wire in to the original speed sensor wire, Speedometer was not affected, and now the ecu is receiving a signal from the vss. Everything worked good.
