Default EFI Live No Vin-License Slots Available

Hey guys, I posted in the EFI Live forum but haven't really gotten a response from there or EFI Live Support, so figured I'd ask here.

Used EFI Live FlashScan V2, both VIN licenses were used so I need to purchase another. Cool, no problem. However, it's not really giving me the option to get one. I know I need to provide the Serial, which I have, and an Auth Code, however the Auth Code field simply states "N/A" and shows the 2 licenses that were already used.

If I attempt to flash, it gives me a $0533 error, "No Vin-License Slots Available" and tells me I need to purchase one, which....of course, circles back around to the former statements of not having an auth code to purchase a license with.

1. Plug in your V2 to your computer
2. Open EFILive Scan and Tune
3. Click License (F7)
4. Click the VINs tab (F3)

Your Auth Code should be filled in right there.

We sell VIN License in our online store also.

To add, if I click the copy serial and auth button and paste it out, it has the serial and N/A for the auth there as well.

Are you sure the computer is recognizing your V2? Any V2 I plug into and follow the steps above I get the same result. Is you EFILive software up to date and your V2 firmware and bootloader up to date?

Positive. I updated its firmware and bootloader, and it's giving me the serial. As well, I already changed my pcm vin through the v7.5 software while it was connected to my car, and attempted to cal-flash to see if it would give me an auth code after that.

To follow up to this (and to anybody else that may be having this issue), I was able to speak with Paul from EFILive. Apparently my device is an older FlashScan V2, one that had a 10 digit serial number. The V7.5 software had the needed logic to prepend a 00 to the serial when doing any sort of logic that required a 12 digit serial (such as generating the auth code). The V8 software doesn't have that.

Paul stated that he would add that feature and it should be in within the next release. In the time being, I need to just request a license without an auth code, which will have to be manually processed.

Lorenz, thanks for replying to the op

It was an unusual case of early hardware vs newer software.

I've not purchased one yet, had a rather costly unexpected expense come up so I had to push the license purchase out, however it's not super imperative right now and the fact that I have the option now is good.

Assuming LSX Power Tuning is Lorenz, in which case, yes, thank you very much! I greatly appreciate the time!
