Hi guys! Bought a 2000 Vette that has been repo'ed a couple of times. The price was right and I'm loving this car. It has a stock LS1 and it runs like a champ. The only issue is I noticed the security light was coming on at random times and staying on. A few times the car actually stalled immediately after I put it into reverse. After 5 months and almost 10k it is becoming an issue. Several times now it has not started at all and I had to wait a few minutes for it to decide to start. If I clear the engine codes it won't start for hours. The battery is fine and jumping it has NO effect. It is throwing the following code: B2721 and B2723. Today it stranded me at a gas station after I cleared the codes. It cranked right up when I went back after work. I noticed some suspect wiring under the ignition switch. I have attached it for your viewing pleasure. I'm wondering if this is a resistor to bypass the key.
Whatever this is, it's plugged into white and purple wires
Thanks in advance for the advice. I have purchased a new key and ignition switch from Ecklers but have not installed it. Hopefully it's a wiring issue.
That looks like the security reader thing connector, if so someone has def tried to bypass it. Judging by all the ign switch wires cut and butt connected back together id guess it had a remote start system at 1 time.
First i would try to find where that connector goes, plug it up, and see what happens. Chances are the system is fine and theres an issue with that resistor deal. If that doesnt work i would get the vats tuned out
Someone also may have cut all them wires before it got repoed. Or the steering column was stolen etc. I believe id just get the vats deleted. I may be way off base here tho
The U codes are loss of communication with BCM and PCM. What would cause that?
Prob a loss of communication with the bcm and pcm.
I would clear those out, fix all that wiring and see if they come back. Those switch wires really need to be soldered. Then either delete the vats or connect it and see if it works.

Yeah...I'd have to solder all the wires and shrink wrap um. The purple and white wire are VAT , the sucurity ****. You'll probably find some resisters in that loop. It might be easier to get a tune and have them shut that **** off.
