Default Need to limit speed to 56mph 2001 ford escourt zx2

No joke ...
9 y/o kids oval track car. Track wants them all to be governed to 56mph
Currently everyone uses some type of throttle stop . Which severely limits acceleration .accelerator pedal only has about 1/4 of travel and car still goes over 56mph if the boy runs the outside groove... ...
Takes him a lap to get up to speed ...would be great if he could have full throttle to 56mph. any suggestions
A simple module that plugs into the obd2 port would be perfect ..
We have a spare ecm that could sent out to be tuned . Or would haul the whole car to someone in the New England area who could tune
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section

Hook the PCM to a speedo signal from somewhere, calibrate, then adjust to 56mph governed speed. Gotta be some way to put a speed sensor somewhere to do this...

There can be a speed limiter parameter in the PCM calibration that at that speed cuts the fuel off at a set speed. You would need to find someone that has PCM tuning capability for that vehicle PCM (if it even exists) and see if there is a top speed limit in the calibration (if it exists).

"SCT Eliminator Switch Chip"

Same thing they used to tune all the foxbodies with. I believe it can do speed governing function and it should work with the escort. Call someone from SCT and pick their brain on the capability of this product

Yeah, you can do this with a chip no problem, here's a screenshot of a 2.0 Escort file in our CMR software, and you can see where the speed limiter can be set however you like it.

jzb1 is the box code.
I have files for it but we are out of stock on our chips.
If you can find one of our revolution chips and a dealer with one of our burners I can provide the speed limited file no problem.

Thanks
