Default P0420/p0430

What's up you guys, I recently changed out some oem catalytic converters to new high flow types and I'm hoping to get some guidance on removing these codes stated in the header that pops up regularly since the change out. I'm using up tuners and can't seem to find out how to remove them. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks

Has it gone open-loop? As in not reading O2 sensors?

You might have a CAT overtemp problem, as in the engine will run very rich to cool the cats off. It would explain your fuel consumption issue.

Typically this is caused by the rear O2 sensors, which you could disable in the tune, or find the appropriate sensors for those cats. The computer is probably seeing numbers from them that it's not used to seeing with your new high flow ones.

I don't have any on my car, but hopefully this can get you pointed the right direction.

You can put the flag on in your PID list in your scanner. That's the easiest way to see if it's in open or closed loop.

Thanks I will try this soon. But I made some adjustment with the ECT and maxxed it out to 4hundred something. So far it hasn't popped up and cars running ok. Aside from some odd vibrations that's is most likely not related to the high flow cars

Thanks man. So far I made some adjustments on the ect min in the open loop area and I don't think it's working properly. I still noticed a large amount of fuel being wasted. So far I disabled the COT and max out the ECT min. And I don't see any changes. Can you guys help.
