How does one get an “email” tune?

Default How does one get an “email” tune?
Do I just supply my info like injector size, cam specs, etc and a tuner sends me a file with a rough tune? Then I just load that file using my inTune?

I would tell them as much as I can about your setup, so that way the tune sent to you will be as close as possible.

What's key here is answer all questions HONESTLY, not how things should be, but how they are.
This way the results will be on point and very enjoyable!

Most of them will have a sheet with the info they will need, you tell them everything that is done to the car and send the pcm. Most of the mail order tunes are good unless you have a radical setup and you just need a base tune to get the car to the tuner, of course it is not as good as a dyno but you can do that when you think you are done modding. It is a vicious cycle lol.

Most people have a list of things to fill out and then you send your PCM to them. They up load their tune and mail it back.

I'm not sending my PCM, I have a handheld that can upload tunes. The initial tune will just be a "rough" tune, right? And then I need to do some logging so they can make any final adjustments? I have one of those Lemur BlueDriver bluetooth OBD scanners, it has logging abilities, will this be enough?

No you will need to log with whatever software is being used for the tune. For example if you were doing an email tune with hp tuners then the log needs to be done with hp tuners. We do email tunes with hp tuners, efi live mostly, thats also what 99% of the other companys who do tuning use for ls. If your hand held doesnt support that then it will not help you.

I see. But that doesn't apply for simply uploading the tune, correct? Or do I need to find someone that uses Diabosport tuning software as well?

I honestly would sell the Diablosport tuner and invest in HP tuners definitely is a nice tool to have along with a decent wideband.

No. If you have diabosport then you need to find someone who does email tuning using diabosport.

Pull your pcm out, bring it to your tuner to have a start up tune loaded
