Default Mounting ECM LS3 1967 Corvette

Guys,
I am pretty sure I have the right answer for this, but I want to confirm...I have GM Performance LS3 376/480 and am looking to mount the ECM. I have determined I will mount it to the firewall in the engine compartment (on my 67 Corvette)...best mounting for the location where I will put it is "upside down) with the cooling aluminum fins to the bottom....no problem with that, right?

I would say that as long as the whole ECM gets a decent flow of cooling air, it should not matter how it's oriented.

Thank you Sir! I plan to attempt to isolate it from from the exhaust using Exhaust wrap and possibly some he shield wrap.

Just be careful not to over wrap it, as it will need to "feel the air" around it to stay cool.

Don't hard mount it either. Try and use some kind of rubber isolaters.

They mount this ecu on the engine in marine applications. High temps 120+, vibration
w/o rubber mounts, water everywhere. Steve

Well then it has to be one tough piece of equipment! If done as above, I would anticipate no issues.

GMPP LS engine harness instructions specifically state to AVOID extremely hot, high splash areas and directly mounting to the engine.
