Default ID 1300cc injector scaling for LSA

Hey all working on a friends 2012 zl1. He has purchased injector dynamics 1300cc injectors and a fore innovations fuel system. We’re installing and I’m trying to get a tune dialed in using efi live. I’ve never scaled an entire tune before since these injectors are bigger than what the hardcoded limits allow. I’m getting the fueling side understood and it’s a manual car so no torque calcs for the trans will be used which makes life easier. Will I just need to half all the timing tables values? When logging would the values represented be accurate or need to be multiplied by 50 percent? Is it possible just to max the injector flow base table and scale the maf table down and fool it that way into running and driving with scaling the whole tune? Any insight appreciated thanks.

Somebody can correct me if wrong, but on my E38 pcm I have ID1300's and the tuner took the quick route of halving the IFR and doubling the stoich. That way the hard injector limits aren't an issue. Again, this is on an E38. I don't think anything else then has to be touched. Any corrections to this, please chime in.

For e38 PCMs halfing the IFR and doubling stoich is definitely the way to go, just take a look around because I believe there is also a table for intake valve temp (IVT) that is based off of AFR so you will need to scale that as well.

Generally this method works very well. Just be aware that after flashing the E38 does tend to run rich for a few minutes so try to drive the car a bit before making the assumption that you're scaling didn't work. In my experience it runs about 15% extra fuel for the first little while.

cool. I’ll look into it. This is an e67 in this car but I’m sure tuning the same way will get me the desired results

I thought the e67 didn't have a hard limit for the injector flow rate.

Yea who knows, I've seen E38s with both a 63lb/hr limit and a 127/b/hr limit. The change over seemed to happen in 2009. Either way, it sounds like you're on the right track!

i hope so. Gotta finish fuel system install and then dial them in. Thanks

I looked at my tune, if you go to Fuel >> General >> IVT Terms there is a table called AFR Term, in my tune I scaled the injectors by 50% so I also cut this table in half.

I'm sure the parameter is available, but I can't tell you for sure. That is for HP Tuners.
