Default Diablo Sprint Issues CEL Clear Command

Hello, I have a Diablo Sprint to disable the Active Fuel Management in my LS4 Impala SS. I have been using this for over a year and it has worked great to disable the Active Fuel Management. I however discovered a problem after I failed nys emissions bc my emissions tests were all in incomplete state. My battery has always stayed connected and I did not clear any codes.

I have a cheap elm327 adapter with torque app and I discovered when I plug in the Diablo Sprint the miles since CEL clear drops to 0.0 and whatever emissions test had completed switched to incomplete.

Does anyone else have one of these and experience this? Chronically resetting the CEL would basically prevent any codes from being noticed. I wasn't able to locate any documentation regarding this and I'm not sure if this is by design or necessary for function. I've reached out to them, but I thought I'd try some forums to see if anyone else has experience, or to spread word in case someone else is searching.

Thanks.

You might have disabled the DOD/AFM, but that doesn't stop the ECM from storing the codes. And if the codes are there, you fail emission tests.

I don't have codes to be cleared, the unit is issuing a clear code command every time it's plugged into the odb2 port. This resets the emissions test to incomplete and because they're in chronic incomplete i failed emissions. I'm not plugging the unit in until I can get back to ready state and get scanned by the states computer.

I cant say I have ever heard of this. Is your Impala SS an 06 or 07-09 model?

It is a 2006. The code that was throw was a p0521 for the oil pressure sensor. Every single time I plugged the Sprint in the codes and emissions would clear. Before I swapped the sensor Wednesday, dod was inactive full time without the Sprint plugged in. Once I replaced the sensor dod immediately worked again.

I got my inspection sticker yesterday and instead of continuing with the Sprint I bought an i3 tuner and removed dod using that.

Flashing the computer obviously reset the emissions tests. Right now only the heated O2 sensor test is completed. I'll plug in the Sprint and see what happens.

With no codes being thrown or pending, I plugged the Sprint in three times and cycled the key and there was no reset that occurred. I suppose I could unplug the oil pressure sensor and make it throw the code again, but honestly I don't think I'm going to invest any further time to do that.

Oh I neglected to say that on Wednesday morning on my drive to work the check engine light did come on with the p0521 code. In a previous post I said I didn't have a CEL. I was about to flip out Wednesday. That is why I bought the tuner which I received Friday and applied this morning.
