Default LQ9 into 02 z28 computer/ harness question

I am planning on swapping an LQ9 into my 2002 z28 6 speed. Was wondering what year LQ9s I should look for because I would like to use the harness and computer from the camaro. I’m not sure if everything will cross over and I have searched a bit on this but didn’t find much. Thanks

Make sure to find one with the black crank and cam sensors and you'll be set.

There are two different systems the 24X and 58X. The 24 uses black crank and cam sensors and the 58's use grey. Search 24x vs 58x LS

If it's an LQ9 it IS Gen III, with 24x reluctor and black sensor. NO Gen IV LQ9's

Okay, but you came in here sounding like the OP was switching engines.

I got an LQ9 370 long block from TSP about a year ago. Installed it in my 98 Z28. I don't recall we changed anything except for a couple of things that won't apply if its takeout from another vehicle.

The new blocks are a little different from the original block - all long head bolts for example. GM doesn't mfg the original block anymore according to TSP. I recall we did have to tap a hole for the alternator bracket.

One thing I recall when I was searching for info same as you. Don't recall exactly, but it had something to do with the crank on the backend- longer as I recall maybe. Jason or tech at TSP is your best source for answers. Do a search on this forum too.

In my case I had no issues.
