Write calibration only someone else’s tune?

Write calibration only someone else’s tune? Long story short I’ve got 2 swap cars. 68 Camaro and 06 Mustang. Both cars are 2000 Fbodys both auto. I’m getting a P0200 on the Mustang. Can I take the Camaro ecm and do a write calibration only into the Mustang just to test it if it’s the drivers in the ecm? Basically can I take 2 2000 ecms flash the calibration from one and put it in the other for testing or do I need to copy and paste everything. I’m using Hptuners thanks

Even with different Vins? I just want to make sure I have no chance bricking the known good one and I don’t want to copy and paste everything over to turn around and do it again. Thanks
If you are truing to swap full complete tunes between two cars (I think that's what you are saying) and the cars are the same setup how about just swap the computers temporarily? Sorry if I'm off base here and not understanding, just throwing out ideas.

Yea, just swap PCM devices. If you are really worried, go to the junk yard and get another red / blue connector PCM - $32.00 around here. Unless you live in a state with strict emission control laws, a different VIN shouldn't matter. I can't speak for how HP Tuners behaves here for different VIN's, but it does not matter when doing tunes with Tuner Pro RT / PCM Hammer / LS Droid.

I had planned to swap ecms but the Camaro is a stock ls1 and the other is a MS3/3400 converter/42lb injector car. I need the mustangs tune in another pcm to see if the p0200 goes away. All the injectors pulse it just has a misfire and this code with no obvious reason why. And these are both cars I’ve licensed with Hptuners. My question was once I swapped the ecm over can I simply write calibration the mustangs tune into the Camaro’s pcm or did I need to swap pcms then copy and paste everything one table at a time.

You can swap PCMs all day long providing that the they're same style PCM and each have the correct engine tune in them, i.e. don't try to start a V8 with a 6 cyl calibration. I used to buy 0411s at the pull-a-part and load tunes in them.
The only catch is that each PCM has to be licensed. But if you have the full gen 3 car credit, you'll be ok and both PCM are showing a car VIN. HPT Pro has a way around this though.
Fortunately, where I work, I am able to load any VIN I want into any corresponding PCM.
