Default Won’t run

I have a 4.8l out of a 2003 Chevy express van, that I swapped into my 1999 s10 and it dies after a few second and if I give it any throttle dies out right away. Vats has been disabled using a tuner.
any ideas?

Definitely sounds like an idle tuning issue. Drive by cable?

It starts for about 2 seconds then dies out but if I give it any throttle it dies right away. Cannot keep it running long enough to move it.

need to do a full flash with a tune that uses a manual transmission. the ECM is looking for parameters that are no longer there since you swapped to a manual transmission

You should be able to start and run the engine without any transmission hooked up. recheck the anti theft parameters

it does start, for two seconds, the OP has to disable the DTCs in the ECU.

OP, you either have to disable every DTC for the auto transmission or just re-flash the ECU for a manual set up. I have had this problem before and chased my tail for weeks when i first started LS swapping everything. So a friend came in, 30 mins later, left with the car running.

With HPTuners plugged in at startup, watch your parameters. You’ll figure it out in about 3 tries. You have a sensor…or two…not reporting.
