![Question](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
My question is can I use a 07 z71 pcm and stand alone harness on a 04 ls 5.3 ls swap.I’ve seen a couple plugs are different will it work if I use the 07 alternator which is a 2 pin and not four like the 04.And I got to swap out the DBC for DBW.Will it work? What are things to look out for?

Most likely no, because the 07 Ecu is almost certainly a 58x reluctor and the 04 motor a 24x reluctor.
You could change the reluctor by removing the crank. But you cannot make a 58x Ecu interpret a 24x signal

Both of the above replies are correct. It depends on the specific PCM.

You'd need to make a few tuning changes - such as the displacement, but if they are compatible - i.e. both 24x - you can make the motor run fine.

Lingenfelter used to sell a 58x to 24x signal conversion box. I had one for a long time.
My computer was a 24x 98 PCM. You can make a 24x computer read a 58x signal but I’m not sure you can do it the other way around.
I actually highly doubt it because you would need to multiply the signal instead of just filtering it. I just don’t know for sure. Maybe someone out there has tried it.
