Shift light & rev limiter settings with Dyno Numbers
6.0, T56 Magnum, 93 pump, 78/75 gen 2.5.
With these dyno numbers here, where would you set your shift light and rev limiter? The motor is "good" for 8400 RPMs per Tick Performance when buying the rods and pistons. The car made 780 at 6800 rpm. The rev limiter is set at 7k right now, but I've read some people saying to set the shift light 500rpm above peak power. I can up the limiter to 7500 and set the shift light at 7300 but was curious what your feedback is.
If it falls off a cliff I'd probably shift a little bit after peak.
Torque applied at rear tire is what moves your car. Each gear shift is about 30% loss of torque just due to gear ratio changes. Unless you can gain +30% engine torque at a lower rpm.... there's no point shifting yet. Things are really simple with a manual trans ---> Rev the crap out of it.
