Terminator X on backorder? Anyone with info?

Terminator X on backorder? Anyone with info? I'm hopefully going to be pulling the trigger on one of these before too long, but all I keep seeing is that they've been on backorder since like September of last year. Not a good sign. Does anyone know what the holdup is? I'd guess it might be the whole computer chip shortage issue, but it could be something else.
I believe it depends on what you're buying, and from who. If you're buying a complete setup, with the wiring harnesses, ECT, you should be able to find something that will work at Summit and the like. If you want to buy just a replacement ECM, that can get harder, and if you try to buy directly from Holley, you will definitely be waiting.

FWIW, I bought the Terminator X Max with the truck injector clips because the car injector version was backordered months out. Cut off the truck injector pigtails and soldered on EV1 pigtails, bit of extra work but was able to get up and running right away.

Ordered the Terminator X 550-904 in Feb and expected ship date is now June the 1st. I also ordered injectors. If i would have known the truck style injector X kits were back ordered i would have ordered different injectors and matched it to the Holley after. But if it is a back order of IC's to build the ECU then that wouldn't have mattered. Hopefully they start getting the parts they need to keep up with production. These last several years have been a Poop show all the way around IMO. have a good one.
I think pretty much all of them are back ordered now, regardless of part #. I have one ordered through Jegs. It originally said 4/27, now it's saying end of May. I bought through them, because they offer the extended warranty, and well I wanted that. I would guess other places offer it, but I haven't seen it.
Did everyone forget about Megasquirt? Better than Holley term. IMO and roughly the same price. More I/O's and adjustability anyway.

I really didn't forget about it, but I definitely like tuning Holley more. I don't know if it's because I tune more of them or what. I also, like to use products that have a wide variety of acceptance in the car community, in case I ever sell a project. I know MS has that, but I don't think it's as much as Holley. I'd guess it's mostly marketing, but either way.
I hear ya. Im partial to MS just because its what I have used over the years as well. I’ll say the forums/community is 10x better than Holley’s support IMO. Its also in constant development and the software is updated a lot more often than Holley’s. The software is also more capable and allows you to adjust/play with more. That also lets you get in trouble if you don’t know what you’re doing. Logging software is also better IMO. But you have to pay for the software programs on top of the ECU. Which is pretty crappy.
