Is HP Tuners forcing software update by not releasing purchased credits?
Is this really a thing?
I just paid a hundred bucks for two universal credits.
Hooked up my MPVI2 to my computer and went to hit the resync button and I now get the infamous message of. Resync Failed. Client Version NOT SUPPORTED!
Using my google foo I ran into a couple threads just this past year alone where people are having this issue and HP Tuners Bill always states you have updated to the current software. I don't want to do that.
I don't think I am doing anything wrong. That is how I have always updated credits.
Has something changed?
Thanks for any info.

The sad part is all I'm trying to do is put a stock tune file back on a 1997 very valuable excellent condition PCM that I own and came from my car to resell as there really is a need for these early PCMs to keep the old 97s and 98s driving. My car has a 411 computer in it now.
It was tuned buy a local famous tuner that is about 2 hours away from me. At this point I'm probably just gonna eat my losses and drive down to him and have him write the stock tune file back on it.
It is almost worthless with a cam swap tune in it.

yeah Ron. 4.8.7 here and yes it's MPVI 2
Still haven't heard from support yet but that is understandable. I'm really hoping they can just send me some keys via email to load the credits manually but my inner pessimism says they'll never do that lol.
Tried it again this morning two different computers and still says resync failed.
How do you get your credit keys with MPVI 1?

Thanks Nic. I get all frustrated and don't always think clearly that way. I should have thought to do just that.
I keep a VCM editor on my desktop computer in the man cave even though it doesn't get hooked to cars. Let that one update fully and BLAMO within 2 seconds it resynced and added the credits.

I got that same warning the other day and all I did was re-start my laptop. Weird but it worked.
