Default VE tuning. I've got a problem

Ok to start off I have a 98 with this is what I've got.
Stage 2 Heads
CC 212 218 523 529 @ 114 Cam
LS6 Intake
Lid and K&N
PACE LS1 calibrated LS6 MAF
MAC Headers ORP
NGK TR6’s gapped at .40
No ERG removed w\ HP Tuners hope I did that right, I disabled and clear the ERG timing table
No air tubes removed w\ HP Tuners

So I went started with stock table. I unplugged the MAF and start logging. I came back decide to times the entire secondary table by 1.06. I got somewhere -2 to 0 on everything.

So I times the Primary table by 1.06 and I plugged in the MAF and reset the DTC's and LTFT's and its worse it is logging about +5 to +8.

So what did I do so wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Tom

So the MAF disagrees with what you told it for SD.
What was it doing before? Were you having positive
trims on your previous tune?

I might sound really stupid but what is "SD"?

It was running +2 to +4 LTFT's until I went and messed it up.

"SD"=speed density.

Well I logged after changing the MAF by 1.08 it looks a lot a lot better. Check it out. The only things that look bad are idle and deacceleration.

Next question is will the final tweak be the MAF again or go back to the VE?

If it is the MAF then how do I know which cells to modify?

Thanks again Tom

I would get the speed density tune close to zero in all the cells, then when you plug the maf back do some logging. Export the data as a csv file and use excel to make a graph of ltrims vs. maf frequency. Then do a curve fit through the data and that will show you how off your maf is at each value for airflow.

Either that or leave the maf off.

Oh yeah, and before you make the graph delete all the lines with FTC 22 in them because the ltrims won't help you tune your maf for power enrichment.
