I think the main purpose of throttle cracker is to hold your rpms higher so when you shift it is smoother. I think the throttle follower is mainly there for driveability so the throttle isn't so touchy, mainly when the throttle is snapped shut suddenly. I zeroed both tables out and I think I like it better cause the rpms come down fast and I don't have to wait between shifts.

so which table has to deal with that "cruise control" feeling when going down the road? or is it both? and how do the numbers work out, like what do they mean? i understand the decay table. is the cracker just the amount of iac steps it reduces in 12 ms?

If you get cruise control until you come to a complete stop it is throttle cracker. If the rpms hang for a few seconds regardless of speed it's throttle follower. Throttle cracker is in units of massflow (g/s). I think throttle follower delay is in massflow per time (g/s^2) and decay is in seconds. And yes you want to reduce the values to get rid of hanging idle. Mine are all zero.
