Default tuner drilled a hole in my tb and messed with the screw!

i've read alot and have come to realize that either the tuner i took my car to is lazy or dosen't know what he is doing becuase he drilled a hole in my tb. I have read that all they have to do is mess with the IAC. should i take it back to him ro get it fully tuned? it's base tuned rite now. I'm also running the magic stick 3 cam by the way.

there are way too many other ways to fix idle without touching anything unless you have a tb with epoxy filling and if you do you can drill it out in the iac hole like guits boy just did and it helped him. at no time should a tb be drilled, that cam shouldnt need that much air to drill it out.

Some f-bodys can be adjusted to get the IAC counts in line with the idle set screw and still have the TPS reset to 0% while others still need more airflow than what the blade can open before it goes above 0%. Every car and combination is different. Who knows, they may have needed to do that. Then again they could have been just doing it the old way as well. They accomplish the same goal anyways.

For a stock Cam you never have to drill it but sometimes when running a big Cam in a A4 you need to drill it.First you try to tune without drilling though

Reread his post, he has the MS3 cam! Its not in his sig, so many look over it, but he listed it in the topic. My TB Blade cant be adjusted far enough for my IACs to be inline, so drilling it was!

Every car is different and the MS3 is a pretty big cam 237/242, so maybe he tried and couldn't get it right just with tuning.

I couldn't get my MS3 cold start and I tried everything I could, ended up going to a 224/228.

ive got a 230/232, know its not as big but i didnt have to do much to get it to idle. only cold start problem i have is dip in the idle one time and thats cuase the tb has the epoxy in it not letting enough air in from the iac. ms3 is big but it snot that big compaired to others i hae seen run without drilling anything

GM put the stock TB hole there for a reason, I'm going to bet they know a "tad" more than us when it comes to tuning.

Going a tad bigger hole won't hurt a thing.

it wont hurt anything but if there are better ways to actually fix the problem thats good. most of the time if you drill the tb hole out your iac counts will go too low, and there is no way to get them back once you drill

Like has been said, every car and setup is different. I was able to adjust my TB set screw to get my IAC count in line, but then I had the "cruise" effect and RPM's would hang forever. So I backed it off a bit, and widened the TB hole a tad, and that eliminated those problems.

So, I wouldn't call the tuner lazy or ignorant just yet. The real question is: how does it start/idle/drive?

That is what I wanted to know also.
