If i get a custom tune even if i dont get a Relearn code, would it still be good to get a relearn done?

Yes, it is very important,
Everytime you change anything on your rotating mass, Like a clutch, Change Cam or crank sensor, Or replace the computer, OR Reprogram the pcm with a dealer update, or a file that didnt belong to your car.

It is very easy for mail order tuner to just turn off the code and make it never show that it needs it. But i feel it is the right thing to do to FORCE the light to come on until it has been done on a new computer. I am sorry for the inconvieniance for you guys. But i like to do things the right way, and not try and bypass a very important part of the pcms protection and misfire detection.

How do you do it in HPT?

I have a brand new motor that never had a cam in it. My PCM was flashed to stock when I started tuning. Do I need to since the PCM thinks it's the stock 99 cam?

Viper - not sure how you do that with HPT, but if you haven't changed the PCM or performed a cam or crank swap, you probably don't need to do it. It doesn't hurt anything to do it.
