Do these MAP readings look too low for a WOT run??? I thought as the motor rev'd higher I would show less vacuum, higher MAP, or do I have this backwards FYI, I am at approx. 650-850 feet above sea level... Also I get a MAP reading of 95 when the engine is off ignition on.

What is your map when the car is off? That will tell you what the pressure really is and then you can see if/how much you are under it when wot.

Yeah that to your map wont exceed the value of the map sensor when the car is off. So if you see 95 with the car off dont expect ot see more than that at WOT

When I do the same test, I only see 99-100 where I know others see 101-102. Don't feel bad. I have tuned several cars around here from SI to H/C and they all fall in line with mine. Weather and other factors play a roll. Maybe you have a intake restriction of some sort?

Hmm... I am wondering. I have a Shaner ported TB, LS6 intake and a Vararam. I am confused if this system is a restriction...

I have a Shaner S2 Ported TB, LS6 intake and a SLP lid. Two of the three are the same. That is it. I do not have a MAF as it is replaced with a silicone bellow, but before the bellow with the MAF in place it was about the same within 1kPa.

Aside from elevation, looking at it on a %BARO
basis seems like you have only 3% loss at the
top end. So given the rest of the mods I'd say
the intake tract is staying pretty stout.

Side-step. For a race car, that is a substantial intake loss. For a street car that isn't that bad.

Try some experimenting with intake tract to reduce you pressure loss. A good street setup should be able to get 2-3% pressure loss in the intake. You are currently at about 6.7% loss.

Where did you get the silicone bellow?

Obviously, you have never seen a Vararam "filter". It is barely a filter at all, more like a square piece of foam... Super good flow, not the best at filtering air. I do clean it monthly though...

Here is a link to it...

If you want to get hardcore about it install pressure ports across each of the components in the intake tract. Monitor the pressure drop from your inlet filter, across your inlet hat, across your MAF, and across your throttle body. The total differential pressure measurements should add up to your total intake pressure loss. Compare each of the losses as a percantage of the total intake drop. The component with the highest differential pressure is the one that you want to go after.

Or......

You could do like 99% of the people on this board and just buy a bunch of parts and put them on and see if it helps
