Default HPTv2.0.16 vs RAF Spreadsheet..

Anyone know if it works the same, any difference? Only thing I noticed from a quick glance was I was unable to open my old config files, WTF? Guess since you change the config on the fly, it compensates for having to setup a few new ones

I think being able to change the config on the fly is one of my favorite features.

yeah you cant use the old configs you have. the raf spreadsheet never worked out for me right. best bet for me was to do it by hand. but now i actually just have a histogram keep track of it all for me and its a lot easier

Are you talking about the one Scott has on his web page for download OR the "Idle Airflow - Desired Airflow (Imperial).hst" that comes with the install???

Are we talking about the same thing....

Im on the Airflow - Desired Airflow Metric histrogram. After running it for about 10mins at idle during cold startup I got these numbers that are completely off from the Idle Startup Initial Friction table, The histogram showed me numbers of 15, 8, etc. The table is way lower than the data I just scanned.

Its not a startup initial friction table.

Look at what PID it is logging.. desired Dynamic Airflow..

It only uses that table header as its one of the few headers that is the same as idle airflow across the years.

You cannot use the idle airflow table definition in your histogram configs as one of the axis is vs PN and Gear... which the software does not know how to differentiate between.

the desired airflow histogram is RAF....
probably shoud have been labeled different :/ I didnt label those

but it is designed to be a direct cut and paste for your RAF table

directions for use??

M6
Put car in neutral(cause its easier than clutch in the whole time)
FANS OFF
AC OFF
start car from cold start
lt it idle until completely up to operating temperature
stop logging
copy table to Base Running Airflow- Idle Airflow table

for A4
same as above...
except once in Park or Neutral
and then once in Gear with Foot on the Brake

Now that makes more sense. I was compeltely confused when I saw the Startup Idle Friction table and thought why is it referencing that?

So if I just cut and paste, my STIT and LTIT will still be off by say about 0.30 g/sec which I assume is neglible? I also logged the STIT and LTIT this morning and Im showing it about 0.30 or so off from what the Desired Idle Airflow PID was showing.

It is possible you had adders in affect,... like fan airflow..

Definetely used the VCM controls to make sure both fans were off and AC was off.

So with the cut and paste my startup should be dead on but normal driving it will be off about +/-0.40 max for adders.

So what values would you use, the "average" or the "last count" or would you just see what the eact value the scanner shows on playback for each temperature?

Someone mentioned an issue with 2.0 not keeping the VCM controls active for more than 5 seconds.. I never noticed the issue but it is posible you are experiencing that issue. I'll look into it.

I just had that problem last week when I was trying to keep the fans on. After a couple of trys, it started to work. This was with Ver 2.0.14

I'm curious also. Is it easy to overshoot this like the VE tables? I used average when I was playing with it last night. I forced the fans off and let the engine get to ~235 before letting them come back on. The numbers I got were a bit different than the RAF spreadsheet.

But, dang, on a hot start, the RPM's dropped like a rock right to the idle RPM; it didn't hang at all. I still get a bit of overshoot when I blip the throttle. but I presume I just need to tweak my throttle follower decay(p/n) table for that(?)
