Default Wide band O2 install location?

Where is the best place in the exhaust system to install a wide band O2 sensor on a C5 with LT headers and cats.
I have a X-pipe that bolts to my headers and the cats are mounted to the downstream side of the X-pipe. Can I install the O2 on the downstream side of the X-pipe? Or is there too much turbulance there for acurate readings?

You want your WB mounted before the cats. I have mine on the driver side right after the headers. I do not have any cats so I could mount it in a number of places.

Best to mount 18 inches away from the exhaust outlet and before the cats according to the instructions on a Bosch wideband, also when mounting make sure is tilted at 10degrees or greater from horizontal, think its to stop built up to water vapor in the sensor when the car is off.

Mount it in front of the cat. If your using the Innovate gauge, make sure the controller fits up on top of the torque tube plate as thats nice and dry up on top!
Drill a few small holes and strap the controller down with tie wraps..I found this to be the only good location to mount the controller as all the other locations under the C5 are real low or real hot.

Opps, I was actually throwing that out as a question for me.

I was wondering if it can be done.

Yes the recomended location is befor the cats. But you might find that the pipe ahead of the cats is double wall which will make the install more difficult. I have heard of drilling a hole, then fishing a bolt through the hole, putting a nut on it & tightening it down to crush the pipe walls together.
