Default Car wont turn over?!?!?!

Too many general problems in the search results. Ok finally winding up my 2 yr project, started as a 95 auto v6 camaro and now has 383 ls1 and t56 in it. I got an m6 wiring harness and pcm and had it worked on by speartech. Finally plugged it all in and was hoping to turn the engine over(still havent finished fuel system) but nothing. Made sure all the plugs were in (crank, cam, etc). It just makes a weird muffled noise when i turn the key, but nothing to the starter. It doesnt do anything. If you need more info tell me, please anyone have any suggestions, this blows.

1. make sure you have enough battery charge
2. can you hear the fuel pump engage?
3. can you crank the motor by hand?
4. Can you jump the starter? Does it then turn the engine over?

I believe there's a relationship between the BCM and the starter... is VATS enabled in the PCM?

this could be a million things since it's a complete wiring harness, PCM, engine, trans swap.... we need some more details on what diagnostics you've already done...

thats what i was getting at, im so lost. So many things could be wrong. Vats is still enabled but therte is no security light flashing when i try to start it. the starter has been checked and it will turn with the gear, i havent jumped in place on the motor though. New Optima battery. Could it be a NSS or something? Havent hooked up fuel pump yet. But the sts oil pump is hooked up and doesnt do anything. Checked all fuses but maybe there is a stuck relay. The motor can be cranked by hand. aka socket wrench. I dont know havent tried re wiring anything i have the m6 pedal harness and pedal is always depressed. Anything else.

do you have the clutch switch installed? Normally when the clutch pedal is engaged it presses on a switch to ensure the clutch is engaged .. if it's not getting that input it won't even try cranking...

Ok way to point out that im an idiot...there is a black switch behind the clutch pedal when pressed. That is NOT hooked up to anything and i have nothing to hook up to it. What do i do?

i'm not exactly sure how it gets wired up (hopefully someone more familiar w/m6 electronics can step in) but there should be a wire off the PCM I think that plugs into it... not sure of the pin... i think it's the same wire as the neutral safety switch on autos?

ok (horist)thanks for your quick response and hopefully this is the problem, and you pretty much found it. Where are all the M6 buffs...? Oh there are two plugs in the console next two the shifter, do these need to be wired together or extended to the switches behind the clutch if these mean anything?
Thanks, Dave

I did the same swap but not with a 383 just a stock LS1. WHen I didnt hook the the cluth it wouldnt do anything. Also the vats even though security light isnt on may have something to do with it but I think its the clutch switch not hooked up.

The clutch switch was the first thing i thought of when i read this post. IIRC, when the clutch is depressed, the switch closes the contacts to ground.

But why dont i have any left over plugs, what the f*** goes into the switch. I hate cars Do i need it or can i just cross some wiring.

I found the wiring on the sticky for a4 to m6 but i dont have a purple white striped wire. Anyon else do a swap into a 93-97 v6.
