gen7 has a ve estimator function , read up on and use that
i'm sure craig at dfi can have a look over your file before you attempt to use it to make sure everything is in line.

turbotech did the original configuration of the dfi, for the bs3 they sent me a base file, all i had to do was put in my injector scale, crankshaft offset, fuel pressure and crap like that to get it going. it will help a lot to run closed loop and turn the auto correction up.

I am also very curious about this as it has been a concern of mine getting the tune dialed in quick enough to properly break my new engine in. I am also going to be running DFI Gen VII but with 83lb/hr injectors. I have read the manual about inputting information to form a base tune, but have found very little on the the closed loop self correction, do the changes made while self correcting stay permanently in the program? I am also using the wide band O2 option on the DFI. I am contemplating getting the knock module as well but wanted to know if this would self correct timing if knock became present. any information on this would be most appreciated!

i had 60's when i started with the dfi, now i have 96's

sure you can drive the car right away if everything is done correctly the first time, but here is always stuff you need to chase down.

closed loop means you are able to have the reading from the wideband alter your fuel table. once you switch to closed loop you can set the maximum correction in a table.

it will not self correct timing for knock on the gen7 for ls1's that i know of.

No, "should" be ready to fire up in a month all I need now is the wiring harness for the dfi from fastrack...but yes I would like to keep talking and get a very good idea on how to set my car up so that is will run good on first start up with the 75lbs in her and drive it to break in the new eng.

about the same scenario here.. I am in the garage working today trying to finish up some of the small things, these are the things that seem to take the longest..lol oh well they must be done and done right as I always say. I have a ton of learnign to do on tuning the DFI, I am hoping It is easier then I have made it out to be mentally, I am sure it is and once I get a foot hold on it will be able to dial it in tight and safe. keep me posted on your progress! Your blown I will be turboed, I think you may have the easier tuning experience with a linear rise in boost..
