Default LS1-edit with diffrent year models?

Ok its $550 for one PCM and $100 for additional. So will it work for my wife's 00z. And then $100 will work for my 98z? Or not because our years cause us to use a diffrent version? I know the 98 and 99-00 cars computers are diffrent so i suppose it wouldnt work but worth asking? Tim 98z

You can purchase the First VIN for $550 for the 00 and then buy the extra Vin for $100 for the 98. It works across years with out any problems!

To my understanding the per $100 allows you to build another flash file with a different VIN number but it would have to be within the year(s) of the version you own.

Thus a 99/00 could not do a 97/98 flash.

I've got the "unlocked" version here and it's just one editor that covers 97-00, so unless something is different with the VIN locked version, I would think your second VIN choice could be from the different PCM versions.

To my knowledge I got the first VIN-locked unit.

My cable says "97-02", and my software says "97-00". I can pretty much do any vehicles, just a limited number of them.

Works great on my '98. <img src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" />

If you look at the unlimited pricing :

97/98 LS1 car Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $2500
99/00 LS1 car Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $3500
99/00 LS1 truck (4.8 LR4, 6.0 LQ4, and 5.3 LM7) Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $4500
97/00 LS1 car Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $4500
99/00 LS1 car AND truck Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $6500
97/00 LS1 car AND truck Editor/Programmer Package. Unlimited PCM's $7500

You see you get the number of MYs on how much you pay and cheaper versions only support 2 MYs.

The locked version online purchase form asks what MY, trannie type and model. If one version did all for locked, it would have to have all code abilities for all MY and 97s would have less functions then a '02 and code has moved around from MY to MY so either they limit you to MY you order or lock/unlock functions as to what the VIN number is.

So since its all the same progrm. Im looking at it like this. Order for a 00Z (my wife) for $550 she gets everything there is for a 00Z (her tranny exc.) Then give them an Extra $100 they will unlock it for another Vin#, my 98Z and it will have all the needed stuff to work for the 98. Just it will only work for our 2 Vin's. Sounds right Bascially they are Giving you the Second car for so cheap because you already Spent the $550. But they wil bascilly be Throwing in the Extra stuff needed for the Diffrent parts of the 98 vers. the 00 ahh gets confusing when you try to explain it. lol

Hey you got it! Just remember that if you don't get the other VIN right off the bat, you'll have to send the cable back to get the extra VIN added.

Tim, I tried to reply to yur private email, but the reply bounced twice. I can set up one package that will do one 98 LS1, and one 2000 LS1. The cost would be $650.

PS, Interesting that your Buddy is your Wife !!

Ken, this is John, we talked on the fone last week. We just put the new forum up.

I am interested in getting something going my low 1-2 shift is killing my MPH at the track! From what Andrew Mattei said it sounds like I can figure out the proper shift points in probably 2-3 tries.
