New PCM, how much and where?
As a possible solution to my being locked out of my current PCM, I was thinking about picking up a new PCM and playing with LS1_edit and keeping the old PCM until I get the new one running right. Any ideas or suggestiong as to price and availability of a new PCM? This is for a 99 if that matters.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think you can get them from the Carputing guys. Valvegod@aol.com usually has something too.

Thanks guys I'll send ValveGod an email...
Vince, where is Starkey? I'm not too familiar with the pinellas side of the bay. Thanks! BTW, did you get your car back from Al's yard yet? If so how is she running now?

Re: New PCM, how much and where?
For a new PCM, check out your local Chevy parts dept. Think a new pcm is around $160 w/core. Some salvage get $250 for a core (a good one). Usually a salvage yard won't sell you the pcm if they've got a saleable LS-1 with it. A broken motor--then they might sell you the pcm as a core. Take it to the parts dept. w/you when you go to order the new, empty pcm. Hope this helps. WJ.

Re: New PCM, how much and where?
I bought a '98 PCM from http://www.junkyardjimmy.com for $150 shipped. It wasn't programmed for an F-body, but it will be soon. I'm not sure he had access to any more, though.
I think I found it through a parts request from worldparts.com, but it was a long time ago that I actually did the request...

I Wrote the edit part of LS1-Edit. The PCM business is just on the side to help guys that want spares.
http:\\carputing.com is our web site, but I don't even advertise the PCM's on that. I have sold about 75 PCM's over the last 2 years, mostly to the LT1 crowd.
