Default Haven't found any horsepower using LS1 Edit

I don't know where the secrets are I can't seem to make the kind of power I think my car should make. I wonder where I am going wrong? All I can manage is about 365rwhp from my setup. Details on my setup are here: www.turbo-ws6.com/carpix.html

Weird thing is, I had Ed's tuning and made 356rwhp, and then I milled the heads to increase CR one full point (now 10:1). I cold only manage about 10hp over where I was with higher CR and playing with the tuning. I have tried many combos and can't seem to find what works.

I think I should be in the 380-390rwhp with my setup. Any different opinions?

Reckless,

How do you know that you didnt make more Hp? Have you been on a dyno?

What measurements have you made, like air/fuel ratio, O2 sensor voltage, Lterm fuel trims, KR, etc.

It could be that your car was tuned pretty good to begin with.

In my case, I was on a dyno after a MMS head/cam swap with no tuning, just stock PCM. I pulled 389Hp and was running very lean on bottom end and very rich at WOT. My O2 sensors were running around 960 to 970mV. After some tuning of several tables with LS1Edit, I am now at about 890mV and the car is pulling very strong. Now its time to go back to the dyno. Hopefully soon, but we are getting our worst snow strorm of the year and its Spring!!!!!

Well, I know how you feel. Everytime that I make a major mod to one of my Camaros, I never get the Hp results that I expect. Its really fustrating.

Well a few heads/cam cars I've talked to who were 6-speeds before that made around 410rwhp did the TH400 or TH350 conversion and that sucks up some power, he made 365rwhp and ran an 11.5@118 off the brake, thats not too shabby....I made 353rwhp after the conversion and 347 w/out tuning, I think the car would make around 360rwhp now that it has gotten used to the tuning, I wish I had my own dyno...

If I read your setup right you have 8 cu in over, a stock cam(?), larger maf, hand ported/milled heads, headers and a dual exhaust. Maybe the heads don't contribute as much as you think - have you had them flowed? 50-60 hp sounds like a pretty reasonable increase to me. if you had a proven heads/cam combo it'd be low.

Say, I'm finally going to put those backing plates to use I got from you way back when, 12 bolt is due soon.

I've made prolly 15-20 dyno pulls with the edit stuff, but very little changes. I think the dished pistons are hurting me some. Need to go back to flat tops.

Dave....it's been so long I couldn't even remember who I sold them to! Good luck with the 12-bolt!

T350/T400 will show a bigger loss like 20-25rwhp.

You would be nuts to change pistons to chase like 10rwhp. That's a lousy bang for the buck.

Well, I'd trade my higher dyno numbers for your track times.

You ran a 10.98 @ 126.15 with a 1.77 60ft time.
And you ran that NA, right?

Not yet. I may have to spring for the extra bucks for that.

Your numbers seem reasonable to me.
What kind of cam do you have in it?
Still on stock cam?

I'd wideband it for sure so you can see what kind of adjustments to make.

Oh, I missed that detail on your website the first time. Well, that changes things a bit doesn't it.

Have you tried wide band dyno tuning?
