i see:
In Gear & In Park . i have a 6 speed. do i use the in park settings?
w/ A/C off it idles fine, but surges and gets worse till it dies w/ the A/C on. how much did you guys change it? i was thinking 25RPM incraments.

I have 4 rows on my idle table.
1) In gear,
2)in park,
3)in gear w/ AC,
4) in park w/AC.
I'd try 25 rpm and go from there. Did you change cams or adjust the TB such that it could cause your idle to be off?

I adjusted my idle in the IN GEAR A/C ON table. Both of my park tables are all at zero. I would also check your IAC counts.

I would submit that since the other is zeroed in stock form it probably has no use.

Your IAC in gear with the car fully warmed up (oil & water up to temp) should be around 30 +/- 10. Over 50 and the idle can get rough. Under 10 and the pcm could loose the ability to fully controll the idle and throw a code.

well w/ my a/c off count is low single digits all the way to 0, sometimes poping back up to 1. i raised the desired idle speed from 800 to 825 (not loaded or tested yet) to see if it raises the IAC count any. w/ a/c on it is high 30's and low 40's. this time there was no idle issues.
i've had my TB drilled for a year, but about 2 months ago i had it ported, and just before i put it back on, i debured the hole in the plate (butterfly valve) and i guess i pushed it over the edge with the clean up. i have a stock plate i can put in to see if that raises the count also.
thanks for the help.

C5's do infact have an IAC count parameter which you can log in autotap.
Though the terminology may not be appropriate in effect you can treat it the same way as if you have an IAC motor. I would surmise that it corresponds to the airflow added by the idle computer (added TP).

This raises another question for me....since I have an A4 program, but run a TH350 tranny, the computer doesn't know if I am in park or not.
So do I set my idle settings as "in park", or "in drive", or what? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />
