Default EGR & AIR removal..

Will the removal of the EGR and AIR cause any problems with a 2000 Firebird passing emissions inspections? Will the removal have *any* effect on emissions?

The codes have already been deleted via tuning.

Depending on what state you live in, you would definately fail a visual inspection. First thing a smog tech looks for, including myself, is the removal of smog components and any modified parts and CARB numbers... Any smog guy would notice air injection missing... i know i would, and ive failed cars in the past for not having smog equip.

like other guy said u might not pass the visual and be sent home right there. If u warm the car up and take it in it could pass w/ cats. The AIR tube helps feed the cats for better burn off of hydrocarbons. Just do this since it isnt a big deal to take on/off. Takem off till u have to smog. If u have LS1 edit, remove them, put them back for smog.

I'm just taking a stab in the dark but I have a feeling the !EGR and !AIR would not cause you to fail emissions. Even with the cam you have, I think having the cats are the key.

Regardless, email me and I'll tell you where you're going to pass your inspection <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
