Those O2's are nothing major to worry about. Reading your plugs is what I'd focus on. I don't know how to read them myseld. If your plugs look lean, then I'd worry. But what can you do now except richen up?

How about some pics of the plugs?

Default Lean, mean, and damaged?

Lean Question:
My sparkplugs are white. I mean snow-white. Looks like chalk <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

WOT Data Averaged (3 separate WOT runs)

Runs Comma Delimited <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

O2B1 = .857, .850, .866
O2B2 = .864, .857, .873
LTRM1= 2.3, 2.3
LTRM2= 2.3, 2.3
KR = 0 <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
Timing = 28.5 to 30 <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

To me, the data looks good, just a little lean. I just got A-tap yesterday though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

Am I lean enough to damage the motor. I wasn't worried until I saw my sparkplugs (bout **** myself).

Has anybody toasted thier motor from a TOO LEAN condition? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Thanks in advance <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

If they are snow white I would think about richening it up a little. It looks like you've got a good example of the thinking that <.880 is getting lean.

If you havent done it recently, why not put it on a wideband dyno? See what your putting down, and what your A/F are!

What year is the car? Sounds a bit too lean.

With those readings, I'd leave it alone and go with some NGK TR66's. That's one step colder plug.

You can take it leaner than peak power without detonating at times. Leaner doesn't always make more power. I made best power at 12.8-13.0 which surprised me. O2's were around .89-.91 for best power.

No pictures of the plugs. I already chucked the plugs.

The curious thing is that I am showing no other signs of running lean. I have no KR, the engine temperatures are quite low (190's and I have no 160 thermostat <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ) No upper rpm noise, detonation and such.

The car runs great except for the white plugs.

I just filled out the order form for LS1 edit. Hopefully I will recieve that in the near future. Once I get it I will try to richen things up a bit, and see how that affects it.

Thanks for the help. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

NastySS00:

I am currently in a very long line waiting to get on a dyno. <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" /> . The wait for a dyno here (one that can tune on a wideband O2) is ridiculous. I got fed-up waiting and getting bumbed so I went out and bought A-tap.

PSJ:

The car is a 2000 WS6. Recently Done. ARE Stg II H/C, Shortie Headers (WTF, I know), LS6 Intake.

Prior to the big mods, the car ran rich; it backfired on the way down.

Dipstick:

Colder plug... that's an idea. What are they gapped at? I change plugs often enough. I will give those a try next time around. Thanks. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

The TR66's should be factory gapped at .059. Always check to be sure though.
