...as in the .HPL log files have an Outlook icon ?
If so, it's a file type association Windows problem. Somehow the .HPL file type has been associated with the Outlook application. Remove/delete the .HPL file type or reinstall HPTuners and it should fix it.
Open your C: drive in Explorer, Tools/Options, File Types.

i already tried removing it and reintalling it. i now have a new laptop and it is doing the same thing. i tried the "open with" and it says unable to parse file. when i try to double click it says "the interface is not found or responding."
