...as in the .HPL log files have an Outlook icon ?

If so, it's a file type association Windows problem. Somehow the .HPL file type has been associated with the Outlook application. Remove/delete the .HPL file type or reinstall HPTuners and it should fix it.

Open your C: drive in Explorer, Tools/Options, File Types.

All you need to do is right click on one of your log files. Go to "Open With" then select "Choose Program". Pick HPTuners and make sure to check "Always use this program to open these files". Should fix you right up.

i already tried removing it and reintalling it. i now have a new laptop and it is doing the same thing. i tried the "open with" and it says unable to parse file. when i try to double click it says "the interface is not found or responding."

Try getting to it from within the scanner...as in open the file while in the scanner. I saw problems like this while beta testing 2.0 for them...

*shrug* like skele4door said though...just right click-open with-hptuners scanner & click the box that says open with this program every time...that should get it to work just fine. Personally I never had that problem.

Have you tried posting this over in the Bugs and Issues part of their forum? They are usually pretty good about getting back to you over there...
