its only got a LT1 engine it,, you should have gotten a 98-up w/ a LS1 and then you would know what power really is.

Yes, you have one - but at 160 or 255 - not at 95.

I then started to look around I saw a 00 ls1 A4 coupe but I didn't want a slowmatic, so I test drove the 97 and I liked it.

So here I am, Actually Neighbor had an 11 sec. 2001 ls1 so I do know what it feels like. also my 90 lx is faster than stock LS1's anyway. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Ya it does have a speed limiter, but I have a HPP3 for a 97' I'll cut you a great deal on so you can take the limiter up and maybe get a little more power out of the car...

Hey I'm new to the world of chevy, I also have a mustang but recently purchased a 97 z28 because I got a good deal on it.

It pulls really hard up to 95mph and starts to feel like it loses top end. maybe because I'm use to a faster car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . Is it all in my head?

it's a 97 Z28 M6 Vert with 245/50/16's all the way around.

Don't know about the '97 but a '99 with R rated tires the speed limiter is set to 118. Also when you hit the limiter you'll know it because it does just like the rev limiter and sputters until the speed drops a bit then goes back up and hits the limiter again and sputters....etc. The HPP III is a Hypertech Power Programmer. It allows you to adjust the rev and speed limiters among other things like adjusting the speedo and odometer for gear or tire size changes.

I do have a speed limiter, but it's set at 155mph. The thing I'm feeling is my driveshaft, I need a Aluminum driveshaft. I'll be getting one from an LS1, since the LT1's came with steel instead of aluminum <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I've owned a 95 Z28 with an LT1 and a 99 SS Z28 with an LS1; both cars have T56 manual 6 speeds.

The LS1 is faster but both cars have lots of low-end tork and are equally fun to drive....

If blindfolded, you probably could not tell the difference... I always liked the LT1 car but it was less reliable than the LS1. If you want to do modifications the LT1 car it is much easier and cheaper than the LS1...
