Default "Write Calibration Only" V2 Hp Tuners.

I just upgraded to Tuners V2. I re-tuned the car and it took ALOT longer than V1.7. At one point it took 10 Minutes to reflash. Anyway...I was wondering what that meant? I think it means, instead of re-writing the entire VCM, it will re-write only the changes I made. Is that right...or am I way off base?

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, that's what it means, but mine usually take 10-15 sec.

Falling back to 10 minute writes indicates a comms problem,
either flaky electrical or the PC is spending too much time
worrying about things other than pushing packets.

In the time it took you to write that, you could have answered my question. You could have said "yes" or "no". Thanks anyway.

Did you make sure you had the high speed box checked?

Perhaps..

But we need to do whatever it takes to encourage our customers to read the help files.

The majority of questions we receive can be answered through the help files. Plus, reading through the help files can also give you information in regards to other parts of the software as well.

We spent MANY hours working on our help files.

If you navigate to Working with VCM Editor->Flash Menu->Write VCM, you'll notice there is a LOT of information in regards to the write options available to you.. Much more information there than a simple yes/no answer.

And to answer the part that is not in the help files, comparison between 1.x and 2.x writing methods... The standard write for both 1.x and 2.x are the same, as are the entire write methods of 1.x and 2.x.

The standard write method rewrites the calibration part of the PCM only where as the entire write method rewrites the calibration part + the operating system part.

True, it makes sense. I'm sure you get alot of questions that can be answered through the help files. I was in a rush to retune the car, and go logging. I can't believe I waited so long to switch to V2.0. It's so much better than 1.7. Awesome job on the software! I will check out the help files more in detail, it may even answer more qustions.

Thanks for the help!
Jason
